Helen has had a special interest in helping clients in eating distress since 1997. She is a professional member of the Eating Disorders Association and has also attended the North-East Eating Disorder Forum, based in Newcastle Royal Victoria Infirmary. Helen has participated in their training courses for practitioners and is currently working as a group counsellor for Northern Initiative on Women and Eating (NIWE).
Helen’s approach is person-centred, seeing eating distress as a symptom of deeper concerns as well as a difficulty in itself. Her gentle, non-judgemental approach seeks to address the inner conflicts as well as the day to day problems with food.
Helen is available for individual counselling with anyone in distress about their eating ,at any level and also for workshops related to eating distress and body image.
